THE OLD BAZAAR IS CALLING ME...

The call is constant, ceaseless, as though coming from other centuries. There are days I don't need to buy anything, I just want to smell the smells, look at the people and enjoy the endless cups of teas each merchant offers you when you pay him a visit. Sometimes I only want to see fabrics, but today, I have had enough of them...

today, I want to look at silver...

to see ceramics...

or feel the glint of old diamonds...

and yes, maybe, maybe look a old sinks for my new kitchen...

THROUGH THE DRY RIVER BED...

I started the walk on a little path by the old Bizantine village

At the beginning the boulders were big, but not at all intimidating...

But then I saw the endless canyon. I swallowed hard and got on with it, the walk...

As I left the canyon and began climbing I saw the little monastery, down below, all shut down. I heard cicadas, and the bells of goats in the distance and I heard the wind...

I went further up and seemed to touch the clouds from time to time. No more cicadas, no more goats, just the wind and my breathing...

The first hour passed, my legs seemed to want to give in, and at the end I saw the coast from the top. I had Greece at my feet...

And around the corner from the old wall, I saw the door to the hermit of Saint George. I walked in, no more roof, just the icons and the wind...

A DAY ACROSS FRANCE...

My plane had arrived early, and the weather looked sublime...

By the time I got into town stormy clouds were flying across the heavens. To kill time I walked along the Seine - one of my favourite walks ...

And as the first drops started falling, I quickly made my way to the train station. I slept all the way (I am sorry to admit) and woke up in a sunny Marseille - my fav French city...

I dashed across the town to pick up a car, enjoying the sun and that Northern African vibe Marseille always welcomes me with...

The Sun was forgetting this part of world now, enjoying itself - I imagined, out West in California and Guam. It was dark by the time I arrived in the small kingdom...

But the next morning it was back, the Sun, first pinkish and shy...

GREENLAND FROM THE AIR...

A few weeks ago, as I was flying over the Atlantic, the plane made a small detour to delight us with the sights of a frozen land. The 30 minutes we spent flying over Greenland were made, to me, more relevant, more poignant when, a few days later, I read that a large part of the island's ice had melted over night, a first, it was said, since weather has been recorded there. These are some of the images I took from the plane, this is my Greeland from the air. Enjoy...
