IZNIK DREAM...

Built in the 16th Century, by Mimar Sinan, Rustam Pasha is a must when visiting Istanbul. It sits in the the middle of the hardware bazaar, meters away from the Golden Horn...

Covered from head to toe in the most beautiful ancient Iznik tiles...

Istanbul I L-O-V-E you!!!

THE MOON OVER THE WANNSEE

The moon wandered in and out of clouds...

... and the air smelled of autumn.

Baroque music cracked the silence from the shores...

IT WAS MY FIRST WALK IN THE DOLOMITES...

and after the thunder storm had passed, my friend headed back into the forest looking for more mushrooms...

I chose a sunny spot to wait for him, and dry my clothes...

with this beauty for company.

I waited for the remaining clouds to clear...

to get a full view...

of Il Sasso Lungo in its full glory...

OLD STONES BELOW THE ACROPOLIS...

After amusing myself with the antics of four legged friends...

and eavesdropping in other people's conversations...

I followed my nose to the fenced woods below the Acropolis...

where the young archeologists were discussing...

what to do with the old stones, covered with dust of centuries.

THE OLD BAZAAR IS CALLING ME...

The call is constant, ceaseless, as though coming from other centuries. There are days I don't need to buy anything, I just want to smell the smells, look at the people and enjoy the endless cups of teas each merchant offers you when you pay him a visit. Sometimes I only want to see fabrics, but today, I have had enough of them...

today, I want to look at silver...

to see ceramics...

or feel the glint of old diamonds...

and yes, maybe, maybe look a old sinks for my new kitchen...

ISTANBUL...

In summertime...

with the smell of two continents in the air...

and the elan of time past...

Istanbul, you never disappoint....
